The Junior League of Waco had a  partnership with AVANCE to help offer additional parenting classes four times a year for families. AVANCE classes currently cover a variety of topics including prenatal health, child development, infant CPR, healthy cooking and child safety. By providing additional volunteers, the Junior League of Waco offered more training that taught job and life skills by recruiting speakers to lead discussions on such topics as job interview skills, financial literacy/debt management, home ownership and available social services while also creating activities for children that attend with their parents. By learning more of these important skills, parents helped impact their children’s development while empowering parents to achieve their own educational and professional goals.
