Charity Ball
Ballo Italiano — The Return of Charity Ball
Benefiting the Junior League of Waco
For over 90 years, the Junior League of Waco has been a driving force in McLennan County — uniting women through volunteerism, fundraising, and a steadfast commitment to the greater Waco community. Through this legacy of service, we have become one of the most respected and effective volunteer organizations in Central Texas.
This year, we are proud to bring back one of Waco’s most beloved traditions.
The Junior League’s Charity Ball made its debut in 1960 and captivated Central Texas for decades, drawing over 1,500 guests at its height and earning its place as the highlight event of the social calendar. From Blackbeard’s Ball to Rock n’ Roll to the Wizard of Oz, each year brought a new theme and an unforgettable evening in service of our community.
Now, Charity Ball returns — and it does so in grand fashion. Ballo Italiano pays beautiful homage to the very first Charity Ball, originally chaired by Sue Getterman and Patsy Cartwright in 1960 under the same iconic theme. This evening promises all the glamour, elegance, and community spirit that made Charity Ball legendary, reimagined for a new generation of guests and supporters.
Join us on November 14th at 8 PM at Ridgewood Country Club for an evening of Italian-inspired splendor, as we come together to invest in the women and families of our community through the Junior League of Waco.
