Awesome Outings

Awesome Outings was developed to provide elementary-aged children with activities and projects that would otherwise be unavailable to them.

This project strives to promote self-esteem and peer-bonding and to broaden the scope of future career possibilities for local children. In 2007, the Junior League of Waco partnered with Mission Waco to provide children enrolled in Mission Waco’s Jubilee Kids Program with such opportunities. The Jubilee Kids Program is a curriculum-based after-school program which provides study assistance to children throughout the school year. Our most recent outings have included Cameron Park Zoo, the Mayborn Museum, Jump-N-Place, Homestead Heritage, and an MCC baseball game. Approximately forty children, ages 5-12 years old, and their teachers will be joining the Junior League volunteers on outings this school year.
