Teen Suicide Prevention Program

The Teen Suicide Prevention Symposium was adopted as a project of the Junior League of Waco in 2005, in partnership with Baylor University and The American Football Coaches Association. The TSPS serves the community by providing education and information about suicide prevention and education to individuals, organizations and agencies that work with today's youth.

The Junior League of Waco and the Region 12 Education Service Center are proud to sponsor our 8th Annual Teen Suicide Prevention Symposium. Suicide is the third leading cause of death among our teens. Most of them give some warning before attempting suicide, providing us an opportunity to help prevent this terrible act. Our symposium is designed to increase public awareness and provide education on this plague to our youth. This year will focus on "Bullycide" and include informative presentations covering prevention strategies, risk assessment, recovery as well as personal stories of bullying. Please join us in February of 2013 – your attendance may just save a life someday.
